The other thing I neglected to mention about JJ is that he has a better understanding of physical intimacy. Sexual arousal is controlled by brain responses which cause a person to relax and calm down, referred to as the parasympathetic nervous system. It defies logic to imagine a person screaming, tongue lolling out, in a methamphetamine-fueled groin slamming session. It just doesn’t happen, and if it did the people involved couldn’t be enjoying the act as much as a couple who will simply lay back and embrace each other dreamily.

JJ draws women who look at each other, who hug, and who appear able to hold still. It baffles me how rarely that happens in a wide variety of artwork meant to portray the act of sex.
